The Terre Haute Convention & Visitor’s Bureau (CVB) is dedicated to promoting Terre Haute and the surrounding region as a vibrant, must-visit destination. However, their existing website, built on a low-cost platform with plug-ins for managing attractions listings and event calendars, lacked the functionality to keep content current, engage with local businesses and visitors, and track valuable analytics. The absence of a robust CMS and CRM system limited their ability to compete with similarly sized cities in Indiana and Illinois.
After conducting research, I recommended Simpleview, a leading software provider specializing in solutions for destination marketing organizations. I spearheaded a 9-month project, working closely with the Simpleview team and the CVB Executive Director to establish the art direction, develop site maps, create content, implement SEO strategies, and launch a fully integrated website with an advanced CMS and CRM.
In addition to overseeing art direction and project management, I received hands-on training and actively contributed to both the CMS and CRM. The new website positions Terre Haute as a premier destination for sports, outdoor activities, recreation, dining, and more. We organized the navigation to prioritize the most visited pages, and incorporated engaging photography and video of people participating in activities to add a dynamic, human touch.
